Seejay: @jrenkar: Yep, PB. Running 1 and 1/2 boxes: the quad (stock Q6600 x4 @ 2.4 GHz.) and my old AMD64 3200+ (only about 40% of the time, cos it's in my son's bedroom, and there are wifely restrictions enforced!!) :D:D

2008-05-11: BOINCstats - Unscheduled downtime
We had some downtime in the last 12 hours due to Apache suddenly not accepting any new connections. The first time was quickly solved but the second time was during the night and was solved in the morning resulting in 4,5 hours of downtime.

I'll be monitoring the server closely. At the moment I can't find a reason for the Apache problem so I can only hope it was a fluke and won't happen again.

2008-05-11: Cosmology@Home - Work generator back online
It looks like work is flowing a bit better now, so I'm going to restart the work generator and see what happens.
 
2008-05-11: PrimeGrid - Updated application for TPS subproject - now has a screensaver!
New application version for TPS subproject has been released. If it behaves correctly, I will release it for other subprojects.
For the first time, it also features a screensaver!
 
2008-05-10: Cosmology@Home - Database and Bandwidth errors
After more work, the source of a number of the database and bandwidth errors were located and fixed. Please report if the situation pops up again.
 
2008-05-10: RieselSieve - Temporarily Out of Sieve WU
Due to a conflict in the wrapper, we are temporarily unable to process Sieve workunits above id #11222915. This means that currently, we are out of sieve work. A fix to the original problem has been found, but it causes further issues. It looks like, at this time, we are out of sieve workunits until mid-day Saturday at the earliest. Please refer to the forum thread http://www.rieselsieve.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1472 for more details and the latest status information.

2008-05-09: Cosmology@Home - Another update
The project daemons seems to be mostly working at this point. There are still some problems with scheduling, though, and there are *far* too many WUs in the queue due to the population script not being able to get queries out in time, so we're going to wait a while to see if it settles. However, it looks like the database is doing *much* better and there are no hanging queries. I'll keep you posted on changes.
 
2008-05-09: PS3GRID - Detail of the first numerical experiment.
The first set of numerical experiments run on ps3grid.net produced 5,000 trajectories, 4 microseconds of simulated time, over 200 years of CPU time with a daily output of 100 ns and few GBytes, two orders of magnitude closer to single-molecule pulling experiments. Thanks to all volunteers for this effort.

The website is mostly up right now, but I'm still ironing out some bugs having to do with logging in. The project daemons seems to be up and running but I haven't verified that they are working properly yet. More updates to come.

Project will be going down later on today. Since we'll be doing OS updates, the web server will also be down.
 
2008-05-07: PrimeGrid - Problems saving preferences
We are aware of the issues saving your preferences (the message states that the changes have been saved, which doesn't actually happen), and are working to resolve the issue. It has been reported that logging out and in again helps, so you might try that as a workaround.
UPDATE: as of 16:00 UTC preferences saving should work.

2008-05-05: Rosetta@Home
The minirosetta application has been updated to version 1.19. This version introduces several bugfixes for our CASP8 abinitio and template-based modeling protocols. We'll be testing small batches of workunits this evening and tomorrow morning. For details, see this thread, and please report bugs in this thread.

On Thursday, May 8, we will be bringing down the server for most of the day to perform the maintainence we previous mentioned.
 
2008-05-02: The Lattice Project - Note about MARXAN
MARXAN is not a native BOINC application and as such doesn't do checkpointing or progress bar updates! Will make a note of this on the applications page.
 
2008-04-30: PrimeGrid - Sieve WU lengths increased
In an attempt to lower the size of the database, we have increased the WU length to both the PSP Sieve and GCW Sieve projects. WU's are now 1.5X as long...so a 6 minute WU now takes 9 minutes. Credit has been adjusted accordingly.
 
2008-04-29: Docking@Home
It was a while ago when we updated our volunteers. In the meanwhile Arun Rajendran has joined our group as a post-doc and will dedicate his time to make sure that D@H will be back for this summer. Stay tuned!
